MEET RIMA

“I am 29 years old and I am from Syria. We have been refugees in Lebanon for four years. At first my children and I were going from one village to another in Syria but it became too dangerous and since my husband was already in Lebanon, we came too with my mother, our three girls and two boys, ages 3 to 11.
Life is not easy in Lebanon. Here my children feel rejected sometimes, it is hard for them as they are not really accepted. Thankfully, one of our neighbors told us about the church education center and they were able to go. It helped them a lot, and our whole family too.
One day at a parents/teachers meeting, I was told about the hairdressing learning center. I have always been passionate about hairdressing, since I was a little kid, so I could not believe it at first. I did not hesitate one second!
My husband is very supportive of the project and he encourages me to learn. My hope is to become a professional hairdresser after this training to help my husband and family and so that we can have a more secure and hopeful future.”
