children going to the newly opened Child Friendly Space
In October 2017, MERATH helped open a new Child Friendly Space in the Beqaa Valley where 60 vulnerable young children are going each day. After a 4 days training, 5 Syrian and Lebanese women opened this CFS in informal tented settlements. It provides safe spaces for those children, with programming including play, education, health and psychosocial support. They can there benefit from much-needed physical and cognitive stimulation, and develop social skills by interacting with others. This project also includes support and training about early childhood development for families and caregivers.
motivated young women in our hairdressing project
Last October, MERATH helped launch a new center where around 30 young and highly motivated women are learning hair colouring, haircutting, and hair texturing techniques in the hope of becoming professional hairdressers.
friends of ours staying warm thanks to your help
MERATH provided its partners with all the winter items they need for their distributions. This winter, we are hoping to help more than 3,000 vulnerable households stay warm by providing them mattresses, blankets, fuel, heaters, and clothes.
